Reine → Vindstad runs twice a day in summer (Reinefjorden Reiseliv). Buy tickets on the quay; cars are not carried. Book ahead in July.
Almost flat — a single short rise over a low pass before the beach opens. Any walking shoes; bring a wind layer, a thermos, and a swimsuit.
Eliassen Rorbuer in Hamnøy or Reine Rorbuer right on the fjord — both within 5 min of the ferry quay.
Perfect for all ages — the boat ride is the highlight for kids and the beach is wide and safe for play. Check the return ferry time before you settle in.

Reine ferry quay (free short-term parking, signed 'Reinefjord passasjerbåt'). Book the small Reinefjord ferry the day before in July — capacity is small and it fills. Crossing to Vindstad: 25 minutes.

When to begin
Take the late-morning ferry; return on the late-afternoon boat.·The light on Bunes is best from noon onwards as it opens west, and the late ferry gives you 3–4 unhurried beach hours. Book the day before — the boat is small.
Food, water & rest
Vindstad has nothing. Bunes has nothing. Bring 2 L water, a full lunch, and warm layers — the beach is cool even on hot days. Reine has Anita's seafood and the bakery for the after.
