Straight onward from Chhomrong along the well-marked Modi Khola trail. No side branches — the gorge does the navigating.

Deurali Guest House or Panorama Point — both stone-warm, both simple. Book a bed on arrival; teahouses fill by 3 pm in high season.

Long day but very gradual. Watch for avalanche zones between Himalaya and Deurali — locals will tell you when to cross fast.

Straight up the sanctuary trail from Deurali. Start at 5 am to be at ABC by mid-morning before the clouds close in.

The Snowland or Paradise Guest House at ABC — spartan and unforgettable. Sleep low if possible; MBC (3,700 m) is a gentler night before the summit dawn.

Real altitude. Ascend slowly. Any headache above MBC — drop back down. The sanctuary is fragile; carry all waste out.
