Practical, gently arranged

Road transfer or taxi to Caín de Valdeón (León side) or start from Poncebos (Asturias side). Most walk one-way and shuttle back via the Camanzo taxi service.

Posada del Valle near Arenas de Cabrales for slow farm-stay warmth; Casa Cuevas in Caín for the trail-mouth start.

Wide, well-graded path — but exposed in places with sheer drops. Best for confident walkers 10+. No water on trail; carry 2L per person.

Mandatory shuttle bus from Cangas de Onís (July–Sep) — the road is closed to private cars. Buses run every 20 min.

Parador de Cangas de Onís in a riverside monastery; La Tiendina in Covadonga village — both warm and walking-distance from the shuttle.

Soft, gently rolling, perfect for families. Bring layers — the meadows are 1,100 m and clouds roll in fast. Buy local cabrales cheese from a cabaña.
