Practical, gently arranged
Fly to Dalaman (DLM), 60 min by shuttle to Ovacık (Hisarönü). Dolmuş minibuses run hourly from Fethiye. From Faralya, dolmuş back to Ölüdeniz until 18:00.
George House Faralya — the classic Lycian Way pension, treehouse rooms above the valley. Melisa Pension for a quieter night. In Fethiye: Yacht Boutique Hotel.
March–May and October–November are ideal. July–August too hot (35 °C+, exposed pine paths). Winter warm but rain can wash out cliff sections — check culturalroutesinturkey.org for updates.
Red-white flashes on rocks, trees and posts (Grande Randonnée standard). Some sections rerouted since 2020 for landslide safety — always cross-check with the latest Kate Clow map. GPX below is the current route.
Best for confident walkers 12+. The Butterfly Valley rim has real exposure — keep small children back from edges. Short family alternative: dolmuş to Faralya, walk down to the valley beach and back.
