The path, gently held

Sacred since the 10th century, the Kumano Kodo is Japan's quiet pilgrimage — the only walking route besides the Camino recognised by UNESCO as a living pilgrim way.Three day-stages on the Nakahechi route — gentle, deeply alive, held by cedar forests and small stone jizo, ending in the hot-spring villages of Yunomine and Katsuura.
