The three arms of the W trace the flanks of the Paine massif — French Valley's amphitheatre of hanging glaciers, Grey Glacier's electric-blue ice, and the pre-dawn climb to the base of the three Torres for the first pink light of the day. Wild, wind-scoured, and utterly unforgettable.

Refugio Chileno halves the pre-dawn climb but books out first. Alternative: Refugio Central at the trailhead.

Cloud kills the show on ~50% of mornings. Build a spare day into the itinerary and try twice.
